Position Details

Shift: First (1st) shift

Summary of Position

The CNC Machinist is responsible for assembling high-quality cutting tools used in various industrial applications. The role includes setting up and operating surface grinders, EDM drills, and blasting machines. Precision, attention to detail, and experience with specialized equipment are essential to ensure the efficient production of engineered cutting tools.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Receive and review work assignments; verify work pieces and routing for accuracy.
2. Assemble cutting tools such as drills, milling cutters, and taps based on blueprints and work instructions.
3. Perform quality inspections post-assembly to meet standards.
4. Prepare raw materials ensuring proper fit and alignment.
5. Operate machinery like balancing equipment, manual mills, and drill presses.
6. Inspect parts for defects and verify dimensions.
7. Collaborate with engineers and managers to resolve technical issues.
8. Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety protocols.
9. Document processes and maintain accurate records.
10. Perform routine equipment maintenance.
11. Meet production schedules and ensure timely delivery.
12. Enter production data into the system and monitor equipment performance.

Minimum Education & Experience

An associate degree in machine tool operation or related experience (3-5 years), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Experience

Experience with basic machine operation or technical training, with at least one year of direct machine experience preferred.
