Objective: Program & Set Up Machine
Expectations
- Develop project documentation (Routing) and machine code using applications such as MasterCam, Vericut, Solidworks, and Microsoft Office products.
- Troubleshoot programming and machining issues, providing advice as necessary.
- Work with peers to maintain production schedules.
- Document and maintain tool inventory.
- Collaborate with management to develop best practices, continuous improvement activities, work holding, and tooling.
- Communicate with supervisor if any directions are unclear.
Objective: Set Up Machining Centers
- Follow standard work instructions (Routing) to set up machining centers.
- Use best practices and SOPs as trained.
- Produce parts within tolerance during setup.
- Follow TMDR procedures when changes are required.
- Decommission machines after operations.
- Build or tear down tooling as needed and inspect for wear, advising supervision accordingly.
- Maintain tool crib organization and cleanliness.
Objective: Loading and Inspecting Parts
- Load parts on machines according to standard work instructions.
- Inspect parts using in-process inspection methods to verify conformity.
- Stop machines and notify supervisors if non-conforming materials are detected, tagging materials with defect descriptions.
- Sort and contain non-conforming materials according to SOP.
- Work with peers as directed by supervisor.
Objective: Deburring and Teamwork
- Deburr parts following standard work instructions.
- Produce desired results and visually inspect for abnormalities.
- Work collaboratively to achieve production goals, including running and cleaning multiple machines as directed.
Objective: Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness of all machines, tools, fixtures, and work areas as per standards.
- Immediately report abnormal conditions to supervisors.
Objective: Communication
- Immediately communicate with your supervisor and follow additional work instructions upon completing assigned tasks.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with all personnel, including internal staff, suppliers, and customers.
- Regularly discuss critical events and issues with your supervisor.
