Job summary

GE Aerospace Beavercreek site seeks CNC machinists for setup and operation of mills/lathe processes, following precise written instructions to produce castings, forgings and related components.

The role requires blueprint reading, CVP training, and ability to work in a cell with strict Lean manufacturing standards. On-site position with strong safety requirements and elevation of skills through ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/ GED required.
• Completed Certified Machining Program or equivalent.
• At least 1 year machining experience with CNC lathes/mills or completion of a Machining Apprentice Program.

Responsibilities

• Complies with and supports all GE policies and GE Aviation procedures as listed in the site handbook or other company or functional related documents.
• Set-up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Follow written instructions precisely (MOS, routers, engineering drawings).
• Work with materials such as castings, forgings, screw machine blanks, turret lathe blanks, sawed blanks and bar stock.
• Set-ups involve changing chuck jaws, tool holders, fixtures, boring bars, drills, reamers, and setting tools.
• Edit CNC programs and make offsets to insure acceptable parts.
• May be required to write own programs and operate multiple machines.
• Acquire CVP operator status within 60 days of start date.
• Follow Lean Manufacturing guidelines (one-piece flow, standard work, 6S, setup reduction, wet process lines).
• Maintain high housekeeping standards for safe and efficient work areas.
