Job summary

Crane Pumps & Systems is seeking an experienced machinist in Piqua, Ohio, to set up and operate CNC lathes and machining centers on a 2pm-10pm schedule with a $3.00/hour shift premium. You will read blueprints, select tooling, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances in a low-volume, high-mix environment that supports municipal, commercial, and industrial pumping solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of machining experience or equivalent
• CNC setup and troubleshooting experience
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing documentation
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment and gauges
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and machining centers.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Select tooling and determine feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters.
• Secure workpieces using chucks, collets, fixtures and other holding devices.
• Perform machine setups, fixture changes, and dimensional adjustments.
• Edit CNC programs with Engineering and Programming teams.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring instruments.
• Deburr and finish components as required.
• Support quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
