Leidos’ Defense Systems is seeking a 5 Axis CNC Machinist with expertise in CNC machined components to join our Manufacturing team in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will understand advanced manufacturing principles, particularly in 3-axis and 5-axis machining. The candidate will utilize their technical expertise to work within the team to machine a variety of components. The successful candidate will solve complex technical issues, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and effectively communicate with internal teams, clients, and external parties.

Primary Responsibilities

• Setup and operate a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.
• Experience in manufacturing aerospace components from exotic materials, such as Titanium, is a plus.
• Work on different projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal assistance.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in precision machining on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
• High School diploma/GED with 3+ years relevant experience.
• Ability to lift at least 35 pounds unassisted.
• Availability to work overtime when required.
• Ability to work a full-time, 4-day week, 10-hour shifts.
• Must be a US Citizen with a Final Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in 5-axis machining.
• Two years of 2D & 3D experience with CAM software, preferably SURFCAM.
