Overview

This position's primary responsibility is to set up and operate a variety of CNC Turning Centers, including single and dual spindle, turret, Swiss type, gang tool, and conversational control machines, to produce high-quality, close-tolerance products safely and efficiently. The candidate will apply expertise proactively in documentation review, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, equipment setup/operation, and inspection activities.

The incumbent must be capable of multi-tasking and performing various machine shop activities in compliance with company standards. Effective interaction with a broad spectrum of personnel is essential to support operations and strategic goals.

Skills/Experience
  • 5+ years of experience operating and setting up precision CNC Turning Centers, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED), or vocational/technical training.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical, organizational, planning, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and related documentation.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction across all organization levels.
  • Knowledge of G&T practices, inspection methods, measurement tools, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and performance metrics.
  • Commitment to company values and strategic vision.
  • Creative thinking related to machining processes.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
Additional Duties / Responsibilities
  • Complete initiatives and activities timely through effective internal and external interactions.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies.
  • Contribute positively through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in training personnel as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, secure, and well-organized work area.
  • Handle special projects and miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to manufacturing conditions, including fluids, fumes, moving parts, noise, and vibration.
  • Work in both office and shop environments, using standard equipment and protective gear.
  • Possible temperature variations and overtime/weekend work may be required.
  • No travel expected.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent talking, hearing, reaching, and manual handling.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to stand 7-8 hours daily, and lift up to 70 lbs occasionally.
