Job summary

Superior Production Partnership in Columbus, OH, is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC mills/lathe/EDMs to exact specifications. Familiarity with HAAS, MTE, and DNK a plus; overtime may be required.

Qualifications include 3+ years CNC machining, proficiency with precision measurement tools, and knowledge of ISO/safety/quality practices. This role requires self-motivation and willingness to learn new processes.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of mills and machining centers, controls and tool-holding systems.
• Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
• Basic mathematical skills including geometry and trigonometry.
• Experience with ISO, safety and quality manufacturing practices.
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Self-motivated with willingness to learn and improve.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and performs setups of work pieces to achieve the machining sequence and finish dimensions.
• Assembles cutting tools in tool-holders and positions holders in machine spindles or tool changers.
• Operates forklift trucks and overhead cranes.
• Manually program CNC controllers or load CAM-generated NC programs; programming skills needed.
• Set up cutting tools and part zero to machine work pieces through CNC operation.
• Interpret prints and use GD&T to verify conformity of machined parts.
• Notify supervisor of discrepancies; adjust feeds, speeds, and cutters as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Superior Production, LLC., a manufacturer of metal stampings, is part of a large privately owned holding company involved in various metal manufacturing processes throughout the continental United States. We provide Stamping and Machining services throughout the Midwest for a variety of customers.

With two plants located in Columbus, Ohio, we service the automotive, appliance, agriculture, and heavy truck industries.

SUMMARY

Sets up and operates all CNC/Manually controlled Mills/Lathes/EDMs to machine workpieces to specifications. Familiarity with CNC Machines from HAAS, MTE and DNK is a plus. Flexibility and the willingness to work overtime is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews and performs setups of work pieces to correctly achieve machining sequence, and dimensions of finished workpiece.
• Assembles cutting tools in tool-holders and positions tool-holders in machine spindles and/or tool changer magazines as required.
• Operates forklift trucks and overhead cranes.
• Manually program CNC controllers through manual data input, and/or load CAM generated NC programs through network or data card transfer. Programming skills necessary.
• Manipulate machine controls to setup cutting tools and part zero to machine work pieces through CNC operation.
• Ability to produce parts from prints and measures workpiece for conformance to specifications utilizing GD&T.
• Notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
• Adjusts/changes machine feeds, speeds, and cutters to machine parts according to specifications.
• Other duties may be assigned.
