Job summary

Exact Metrology: A Division of In-Place Machining Company in Baton Rouge seeks a hands-on CNC Machinist to produce precision components for unique, one-off projects. You will work with advanced CNC equipment, develop programming skills, and collaborate with engineers, field service teams, and skilled trades to deliver quality results.

You should have 2–3 years of CNC experience, read blueprints, and be comfortable with GD&T.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
2–3 years CNC machining experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints/mechanical drawings.
Experience operating CNC equipment and performing setups.
Knowledge of feeds, speeds, tools, and machining practices.
Ability to verify dimensions including diameters, lengths, flatness, and straightness.
Basic understanding of GD&T and conversational programming.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate 3-axis CNC vertical/horizontal centers and turning centers.
Develop machining processes, tooling selections, setups, and part programs for custom projects.
Machine components to moderate tolerances (±0.005) with high quality.
Interpret blueprints and GD&T requirements.
Perform in-process and final inspections with precision equipment.
Collaborate with machinists, engineers, field service teams, and supervisors to optimize methods.
Set up and operate CNC boring mills and lathes; maintain clean work area.
Complete quality documentation and inspection records accurately.
