Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Machinist for a permanent role in Winston-Salem, NC. The position involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes, mills, EDM, and multi-axis machines, with emphasis on 3-7 axis platforms and Swiss machining.

Candidates should have extensive experience in CAM and G&M Code, with a track record of developing prototypes and improving processes. Onsite work with a climate-controlled shop environment is offered along with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining, CNC programming, manufacturing engineering, or advanced CNC setup experience.
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming using G&M Code as well as CAM programming.
• Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes, CNC mills, EDM machines, and/or Multi-Axis CNC machining centers.
• 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis, and advanced multi-axis machining platforms up to 7-axis CNC Machines is strongly preferred.
• Swiss machining and Swiss-style lathe experience is strongly preferred.
• Prototype machining, process development, or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing is ideal.
• Reading, writing, and editing CAM software and CNC programs.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, operate, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machining equipment.
• Work with 3 Axis - 7 Axis machines including CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, EDM machines, and multi-axis CNC Machines.
• Develop and modify CNC programs using G&M Code and CAM programming software.
• Create and perform full machining processes for new and existing products, often producing prototype, first-run, and developmental components.
• Select tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and machining strategies to maximize efficiency and part quality.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues while implementing permanent process improvements.
• Work with blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, etc.
• Utilize quality gauges such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages, thread gages, depth gages, go-no go gages, optical comparators, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Analyze machine performance, productivity, and utilization data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to improve manufacturing capabilities.

DIRECT PLACEMENT

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $68000.00 - $111000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
