Responsibilities

• Safely set up and operate 5‑axis CNC machines to produce high‑quality precision silicon components.
• Operate 3‑ to 5‑axis CNC machine tools to accurately machine parts per work instructions and manufacturing plan.
• Use appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) to minimize hazards.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure accurate production of parts throughout the process.
• Handle parts and materials with care and maintain cleanliness to ensure product quality and equipment condition.
• Proactively support department work and maintain communication via Teams/Email and shift‑change meetings; demonstrate collaboration and problem‑solving attributes.
• Accurately record and interpret production information in PLEX (e.g., verify track numbers, substitute part revisions, machine downtime).
• Use systems to document maintenance dispatch, completed preventive maintenance, and measurement scans.
• Produce parts according to standards by utilizing production documentation, correctly loading and unloading parts on machine, and verifying part orientation.
• Follow work instructions, setup sheets, and other production‑related information.
• Perform assigned preventive maintenance, maintain coolant lines and nozzle positioning.
• Set up machines for production to ensure correct operation.
• Assist in lean manufacturing concepts and 5S; demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities.
• Perform other assigned job duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of CNC machining experience on 3‑ or 5‑axis machines.
• Machine control experience.
• Shop math skills.
• Microsoft Excel experience.
• Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing concepts.
• Understanding of tool and machine offsets and machine program reading.
• Capable of applying standard practices and techniques within their work.
• Detail‑oriented.
• Quality and safety minded.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate from technical or trade school.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience machining silicon, glass or other brittle material.

Physical Demands

Requires standing, reaching, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds; regularly up to 25 pounds. Close, distance, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus are required. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, wet or humid conditions is possible. The noise level in the environment is moderate.

Work Schedule

D shift: 6 pm – 6 am.
