Job description

Join a precision‐focused manufacturing team that produces high-tolerance components for automotive steering systems—ranging from prototype parts and short runs to full mass-production volumes.As a CNC Machinist, you will set up, program, and operate multi-axis mills and lathes to deliver components that meet exacting specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Setup & Operation

  • Configure CNC mills and lathes (3-, 4-, and 5-axis) for production runs: load tooling, establish work offsets, and perform dry-run validations.

  • Programming & Optimization

  • Run G- and M-code programs; make minor edits to optimize cycle time, surface finish, and tool life.

  • Quality Assurance

  • Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and CMM readings, maintaining tolerances as tight as ±0.001″.

  • Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with engineers to refine setups for prototypes and small series—implementing tooling/fixturing improvements to enhance throughput.

  • Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform routine machine maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, basic alignments) to minimize unplanned downtime.

Qualifications
  • Experience:

  • 2+ years of hands-on CNC machining in a high-precision job-shop or production environment.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficient reading blueprints and GD&T; skilled with precision metrology tools.

  • Solid understanding of CNC programming principles and tooling selection.

  • Attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to manage multiple work orders concurrently.

  • Effective communication skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

Salary info:
