Job Description

EBAD seeks a qualified candidate for the position of CNC Machinist, reporting to the Machine Shop Manager. This is a first shift position located in Moorpark, CA.

The role involves fabricating precision-machined parts by setting up and operating CNC machining centers or lathes according to work orders, routers, and blueprints. The parts are smaller in size, with most runs being short, ranging from 10 to 500 pieces.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate blueprints and develop machining strategies.
• Identify tooling required for machining hardware.
• Create work holders for machining hardware.
• Set up first-piece machines for inspection readiness.
• Verify parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Change tools and offsets based on cutting conditions during CNC operation.
• Use proper methodology and cutting tools to produce quality parts that meet production and quality standards.
• Set up multiple spindle lathes with live tooling.
• Set up 5-axis mills through first-piece machine setup.
• Apply appropriate feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters based on workpiece material, such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, etc.
• Revise programs as necessary based on engineering or production requirements.
• Participate in troubleshooting CNC programming and production issues on the shop floor.
• Machine prototype hardware (single-off) and production runs.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Deburr parts when necessary.

Requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with multi-axis CNC lathes and mills.
• Experience setting up complex hardware on machines.
• Experience running manual mills and lathes with minimal supervision is a plus.
• Experience machining aerospace materials such as titanium, stainless steel, aluminum, and plastics.
• Experience with ESPRIT, Mastercam, or similar programming software is a plus.
• Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical instructions effectively with engineering.
• Ability to work independently; previous lead experience is a plus.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $40,000 - $90,000 per year. Salary will be determined based on education, experience, skills, and market considerations.
