Job summary

Asahi/America is seeking a CNC Machinist to take ownership of CNC mill/lathe setups in Lawrence, MA. You will read blueprints, select tooling, adjust speeds/feeds, and troubleshoot to dial in parts across production runs and job-shop projects.

Qualifications

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to produce precision plastic and metal components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, tolerances, and specifications to accurately set up each job.
  • Select and set tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds based on job requirements.
  • Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues to keep jobs running accurately and efficiently.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Work on a variety of production runs and job-shop projects, taking jobs from initial setup through the first good part.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance, including tool changes, lubrication, and cleaning, to keep equipment operating properly.
  • Identify and report non-conforming materials or finished parts and maintain required production and quality records.
  • Work with engineering and fabrication teams to improve machining processes, tooling, and manufacturability.
  • Assist with other production areas and departments as needed.
