Job summary

Asahi/America is seeking an experienced CNC machinist in Lawrence, MA to set up CNC mills and lathes, dial in jobs, and run production plus custom projects. You’ll own setups from start to first good part and troubleshoot issues to keep parts in tolerance.

The role offers strong earning potential ($60k–$80k+), overtime, and robust benefits, including Day One medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, plus a 401(k) with 6% company match.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to produce precision plastic and metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, tolerances, and specifications to accurately set up each job.
• Select and set tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds based on job requirements.
• Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues to keep jobs running accurately and efficiently.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met.
• Work on a variety of production runs and job-shop projects, taking jobs from initial setup through the first good part.
• Perform basic machine maintenance, including tool changes, lubrication, and cleaning, to keep equipment operating properly.
• Identify and report non-conforming materials or finished parts and maintain required production and quality records.
• Work with engineering and fabrication teams to improve machining processes, tooling, and manufacturability.
• Assist with other production areas and departments as needed.
