Job summary

Aerotek in Knoxville, TN is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist for the first shift. You will set up and run CNC lathes and mills, machine parts from blueprints, and perform basic programming and tool changes. This role requires precise measurement with gauges and micrometers.

The position offers pay up to $40 per hour and requires willingness to relocate to Canton, GA if needed. The shop is onsite in a large, non-climate controlled environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of CNC machining experience including setups and changeovers.
• Ability to perform own setups and tooling changes.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and using calipers and micrometers.
• Knowledge of GD&T and G-code programming.
• Experience troubleshooting and programming CNC machines.

Job Description

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills. You will machine components following blueprints, routings, and standard work while ensuring precise inspection using gauges, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Additionally, you will make basic CNC program adjustments and tool changes as needed.

• Knowledge of GD&T and G-code programming.




• 5+ years of CNC machining experience, including troubleshooting and programming.

• Haas experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial, non-climate controlled, and dusty machine shop environment. It is a large plant where you will be on your feet all day. The physical nature of the job requires working from 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with most Fridays included.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
