Job summary

CPV Manufacturing in Kennett Square, PA is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines, maintain quality and safety standards, and keep records. The role runs Monday–Friday 6:30am–3:15pm with occasional Saturdays.

Essential duties include reading work orders, setting up machines, verifying dimensions with gauges, and ensuring parts meet specifications. OSHA compliance and safe operation are required. High school diploma or technical training preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience reading work orders and production schedules.
  • Ability to read gauges, micrometers, calipers and rulers.
  • Understand surface finish, concentricity and pitch diameter.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications.
  • Set up, test, and adjust machines according to product specifications.
  • Position, align, and secure work pieces on fixtures or dies.
  • Start machines, monitor operations, and record data.
  • Measure finished parts for conformance with specs using precision tools.
  • Inspect parts for defects and sort by flaw type.
  • Maintain, clean, and lubricate machines.
  • Perform other tasks to meet departmental goals.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety rules.

Job description

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist looking for a change? Come work for CPV Manufacturing, located in Kennett Square, PA, where we have been in business for over 100 years! As a CPV Manufacturing employee, you would produce machined parts by setting up and operating various CNC machines, maintain quality and safety standards, keep records, and maintain equipment and supplies.

Must be able to work Monday through Friday 6:30am - 3:15pm and occasional Saturdays.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications
  • Set up, test, and adjust machines according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools
  • Position, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies
  • Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data
  • Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers
  • Examine completed work pieces for defects and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws
  • Maintain, clean, and lubricate machines
  • Performs other activities as requested to meet departmental goals
  • Comply with all OSHA and company safety rules
Qualifications/Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; diploma or degree in technical program preferred
  • Experience: At least 2 years of CNC machine experience
  • Read and use conventional measuring tools
  • Understand toleranceCN
  • Be able to identify drawing elements such as surface finish, concentricity, parallel surfaces
  • Understand thread elements such as minor, major and pitch diameter
  • Know how and why to bore lathe soft jaws for work holding
  • Capable of identifying and selecting generic lathe tools and drills
  • Ability to understand milling and drilling on the machine centers
  • Ability to use related manufacturing tools and equipment
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally required to lift weights up to 50 lbs
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus
