Job summary

CNC Manufacturing in Coatesville, PA, is seeking a precision inspection professional to program and operate CMM and video inspection systems for first piece, in-process, and final inspections. You will manage a database of inspection programs and maintain equipment calibrations, while upholding strict SPC procedures to ensure high-tolerance parts across aerospace, dental, and defense applications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inspection equipment including probe and machine calibrations, periodic maintenance and software/hardware updates.
  • Identify and implement best work holding practices; assist in design/procurement of work holding fixtures.
  • Interpret and communicate CMM results to support production.
  • Train production personnel in proper use of measuring equipment and interpretation of program results.
  • Perform inspections using hand tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Assist in development of work instructions/SOPs; other duties as required.

Job description

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Program and operate CMM and video inspection equipment for first piece, in-process, and final inspections
  • Manage and maintain database of CMM and video inspection programs
  • Maintain inspection equipment including probe and machine calibrations, periodic physical maintenance and software/hardware updates
  • Identify and implement best work holding practices on a job by job basis; aid in design/procurement of work holding fixtures
  • Interpret and communicate CMM results to support production
  • Train production personnel in proper use of measuring equipment and interpretation of program results
  • Perform inspections using a variety of hand measuring tools: micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Assist in the development of work instructions/SOP’s as needed; other duties as required.
Required Skills:
  • Must have a strong understanding of GD&T to include datums and alignments
  • Previous CMM programming experience
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings / blueprints
  • Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Drive for continuous personal development and ongoing training

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with MCOSMOS
  • Previous machining experience; mechanical aptitude
  • Previous inspection/metrology experience
  • Previous CAD experience
Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
  • Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity
  • Work in a production machine shop environment with a moderate level of industrial hazards
  • Occasional travel required for training/customer visits (less than 5%).
