Cephas Consultancy Services Private Limited, Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania, United States, seeks an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to plan, program, and run mills in a precision job shop, interpreting drawings and tolerances to ensure first‑article accuracy.

You will program with CAM, set up three‑ and four‑jaw chucks, verify tooling offsets, and document all actions while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in a precision job shop.
• Expert CAM programming; no specific software required.
• Strong blueprint reading and mathematical skills.
• Excellent organizational and housekeeping abilities.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan machining by reviewing work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications and tolerances.
• Program mills by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and calculating requirements.
• Set up mills by installing jaws, fixtures, chucks, attachments, and ensuring proper fixturing.
• Verify settings by measuring first‑run parts and sample pieces per work instructions.
• Maintain specifications during drilling, grooving, turning, facing, knurling and threading operations; take measurements and troubleshoot.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment by performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs as needed.
• Document actions and irregularities to maintain workflow continuity.
• Complete production releases and quality sign‑offs; support continuous improvement.
• Seek opportunities to add value to job accomplishments and new requests.

Shift: 7 AM - 3:30 PM

Based on recent hiring manager feedback, please focus only on candidates with a minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in a precision job shop environment.

Job Duties

• Plans machining by reviewing work order releases, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
• Programs mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
• Sets‑up mills by installing and adjusting three‑ and four‑jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, indicating vices; design and produce proper fixturing.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first‑run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to work instructions on manufacturing travelers.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains continuity among work centers by documenting and communicating actions and or irregularities.
• Responsible for completing production releases and quality sign‑offs.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Skills & Qualifications

• Must be expert at CAM programming (no particular software).
• Conceptual skills, process improvement, verbal and written communication, functional and technical skills, controls and instrumentation, tooling, coordination.
• Attention to detail, judgment.
• Must have excellent blueprint reading skills.
• Must have excellent organizational and housekeeping skills.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
