Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our Houston manufacturing team. You will set up and operate manual and CNC machines to produce parts that meet strict specifications, reading blueprints and ensuring dimensional accuracy through in-process inspections.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of machining experience, strong knowledge of machining methods, and proficiency with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational machining training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Machinist.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specs.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong problem-solving, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (lathes and mills).
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine setup and machining operations.
  • Monitor processes to ensure parts meet drawings and customer specs.
  • Perform in-process inspections with precision measuring instruments.
  • Adjust machines and programs to maintain product quality.
  • Collaborate with Leadman/Supervisor to align priorities daily.

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Machinists to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines to produce parts that meet customer specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and a safety environment.


How You’ll Make an Impact


  • Set up and operate Manual Machines and CNC Machines, including lathes and mills

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the appropriate setup and machining operations.

  • Monitor the machining process to ensure parts are produced to drawing and customer specifications.

  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerance

  • Make necessary adjustments to machines and programs to maintain product quality.

  • Work closely with Leadman/Supervisor to ensure priorities are in line and adhere to instructions given each day.
