Job description

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our manufacturing team immediately. This role offers a competitive pay rate ranging from $30 to $35 per hour, depending on your experience, and includes a full suite of benefits provided directly by our company.

Core Duties

As a CNC Machinist / Programmer, you will be tasked with the creation of high-precision parts by utilizing sophisticated CNC manufacturing techniques. Your primary focus will be on interpreting complex technical schematics, configuring and running CNC machinery, and ensuring that all finished products adhere to strict quality benchmarks and production deadlines through precise measurement.

• Configure, program, run, and oversee the performance of conversational CNC milling and turning centers.
• Help ensure high-quality output by manufacturing precision parts that strictly align with blueprints and technical specifications.
• Verify that all components meet dimensional and material standards to support overall product quality.
• Determine the best tooling, fixtures, and workholding strategies to optimise each production run.
• Analyze and interpret G-code and M-code programming to perform necessary operational tweaks.
• Resolve technical challenges related to tooling, setup, or quality to help maintain a smooth production flow.
• Contribute to a safer workplace by keeping your station organised and following all established shop safety protocols.
• Ensure that production targets are met by managing your workflow to align with required lead times.

This position involves the regular operation of CNC lathes, mills, and conversational control systems, alongside various hand tools and precision inspection devices. Essential equipment includes:

• Calipers
• Micrometers
• Various specialised inspection and machining instruments

• Availability for overtime as required.

Required Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Preference for candidates holding a certificate or degree in Machine, Industrial, or Manufacturing Technology.
• At least five years of hands‑on experience in CNC machine operation and programming.
• Background in conversational CNC programming is considered an asset.
• Proven ability to operate CNC lathes and mills, with familiarity in Mazak‑style controls being a plus.
• Experience working with diverse materials such as stainless steel, bronze, cast iron, and various plastics.
• Five or more years of experience utilizing metrology tools to ensure parts meet precise manufacturing standards.
• Competency in reading and deciphering G-code and M-code programming languages.
• Demonstrated capacity to manage machine set‑ups and adjustments without constant supervision.
• Advanced ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong grasp of shop math, including decimals, fractions, geometry, and unit conversions.
• Proficiency in using a wide range of inspection and precision measurement tools.
• Strong analytical skills to help solve complex mechanical and production problems.
• Clear verbal communication skills to interact effectively with the team.
• Ability to work autonomously while supporting the goals of the broader production unit.
• Physical capability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to remain standing or walking for long durations during a shift.
• Capacity to perform repetitive physical motions like bending and reaching required for machine operation.
