Description

Mistras Group is seeking a full-time CNC Machinist to work the 2nd and 3rd shifts at our Ellabell, GA location.

Shift and Hours:

2nd shift: 3pm-11pm

3rd shift: 11pm-7am

Skills and Experience

• Ability to learn new processes, techniques, equipment, and technology.
• Minimum 1-year experience preferred operating CNC lathes, VTLs, or in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate forklift, overhead crane, and lifting devices safely.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts.
• Experience working in a production environment with quick changeovers and a mix of low and high-volume runs.

Machining Responsibilities

• Interpret part drawings, CNC programs, and work instructions accurately.
• Verify parts, document equipment changes, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Machine parts to specifications and schedules.
• Use measuring tools to inspect and document quality during machining.
• Understand metal cutting speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and cut angles.
• Monitor machines and adjust tools and offsets as needed.
• Review and suggest improvements to existing part programs.
• Apply basic math skills to job tasks.
• Collaborate with management and shop personnel to resolve issues and improve processes.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of machining or related equipment experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn and share knowledge.
• Ability to interpret prints and operation sheets.
• Understanding of CNC programs is preferred.
• Knowledge of inspection equipment and techniques.
• Good shop math skills and understanding of geometric tolerances.
• Basic understanding of quality processes.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality.
