JOB OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for operating one or more Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines in the production of high-precision small parts and cutting instruments. Responsibilities include setting up machines, creating part profiles and shapes, placing specific features, and cutting or sharpening instrument teeth to meet final specifications. The role may require working mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends depending on business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Reads prints and job orders to determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and the number of parts to be machined, along with tooling instructions like grinding speeds, feed rates, fixtures, and wheels.
2. Operates precision CNC machines to produce parts meeting required dimensions.
3. Inspects and measures parts to ensure specifications are achieved.
4. Maintains job routing information and completes sign-offs as required.
5. Performs other related production tasks during available time.
6. Performs routine maintenance, lubrication, and replacement of worn parts on machines in coordination with maintenance personnel.
7. Informs the subsequent shift operator of production status.
8. Keeps work area clean and free of oil and residues.
9. Performs other tasks as assigned by the manager.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

* One year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

* High school diploma or equivalent required.

* College or technical certification specific to CNC Machine Operation is a plus.

* Experience with Amada Laser is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Ability to read, understand, and perform standard procedures and work instructions.
• Intermediate mechanical skills required.
• Intermediate math and logic skills required.
• Intermediate computer skills and software experience required.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Travel is typically not required.
• The work environment is a manufacturing setting with typical noise levels.
• Requires sitting or standing for extended periods, using hands for manual tasks, stooping, kneeling, reaching, stretching, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
• Use of eye protection is mandatory at all times while working.
