Aerotek is seeking a skilled Machinist for an onsite role in Alsip, IL. You will work in a precision manufacturing environment on customized projects, including CNC and manual machining, fixture design, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines with precision.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on machining equipment.
• Conduct manual machining as needed.
• Review and edit G-code for machining processes.
• Design fixtures, set up machines, and optimize processes.
• Collaborate with team members to solve complex machining problems.
• Mentor junior machinists and share technical expertise.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in blueprint reading, mechanical troubleshooting, and machine operation.
• Experience with manual and CNC machining, including setup and operation.
• Ability to perform G-code reviews and edits.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and shop math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.

Work Environment

This position is based in a precision manufacturing and repair facility focused on safety, quality, and craftsmanship. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alsip, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
