Job summary

Paycom - ATS in Knoxville, IA is seeking a Machining Technician to set up and operate CNC equipment, including CNC press brakes, machining centers, lathes, and manual machines. This is a full-time swing-shift role reporting to the Area Manager in the Machine Shop.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints and work orders, building tooling and fixtures, adjusting machine settings for quality, verifying dimensions with calipers and micrometers, loading materials (overhead hoist when needed), and

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required or six months related experience.
Experience reading blueprints and tolerances is preferred.
Familiarity with measuring tools and safe shop practices desirable.

Responsibilities

Reads and interprets blueprints and work orders for dimensions, tolerances, tooling instructions, feed rates, cutting speeds, depths of cut, and cutting tools.
Builds tooling and work holding devices to complete tasks.
Performs setup processes per documented instructions and adjusts machine settings for quality and efficiency.
Reads and understands measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
Loads and unloads raw material and finished product, sometimes with overhead hoist.
May operate CNC machines that have been programmed.
Performs and documents level 1 TPMs.
Follows safety guidelines and works in a loud, active environment.
