Job summary

Methode Electronics in Rolling Meadows, IL seeks a CNC Machinist to perform set-ups, operations, and maintenance on CNC and manual machining centers. The role requires strong blueprint reading skills (GD&T) and precise measurement with calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

Applicants should have 5+ years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, and be able to work second shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) with overtime as needed. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC and/or manual machining equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T.

• Must read, write and speak English.
• U.S. export control eligibility (ITAR) required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and changeover CNC and manual mills, lathes, and drill presses to meet specs.
• Perform first-time setup for new products through programming and tool setting.
• Load/unload parts, deburr and clean as needed.
• Inspect parts visually and dimensionally with precision instruments.
• Perform routine maintenance and keep work area 5S compliant.
• Maintain safe, orderly work areas and comply with safety rules.

Job description

Position Summary:

Performs set-ups, operations, and minor maintenance of one or more CNC machining centers. Has attained full proficiency in machining operations. Able to make adjustments and measure parts effectively within .001\"

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform machine set-up/changeover on CNC and/or manual mills, lathes, and drill presses to produce the required product or components by making offset adjustments to meet product specifications


• Perform first time set-up of equipment for new products through programming, tool setting, and offset adjustments. Must have good Quality awareness to identify discrepancies while machining.


• Perform manual production operations as required, e.g., load and unload parts, deburr and clean if necessary.


• Visually and dimensionally inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to verify proper workmanship standards are being met.


• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities in accordance with machine operation manual or machine maintenance work instructions.


• Maintain neat and orderly work areas and comply with all safety rules. Follow 5S company standards.

Qualifications:

• Due to U.S. export control laws and regulations (ITAR), applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or otherwise qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.62). Employment is contingent upon verification of eligibility to access export-controlled information.


• Must be available to work second shift core hours (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM), including overtime and weekend hours as needed to support production requirements.

The base pay hiring rate expected for this position is: $20.31 - $29.45 hourly.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
