Job summary

KARL STORZ North America is seeking an experienced Machining Operations Supervisor to lead our machining department, ensuring production of high-quality components that support manufacturing operations and customer commitments. The role coordinates daily activities, supervises team leads and hourly staff, and drives continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
3-5 years of supervisory experience in machining/manufacturing.
Strong hands-on knowledge of CNC machine setup, offsets, troubleshooting, and program editing.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage employee relations, and develop talent.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate daily machining operations to meet schedules, quality, and delivery.
Coach machinists and team leads, fostering accountability and continuous learning.
Monitor performance metrics and implement actions to improve productivity and quality.
Drive lean initiatives and Kaizen events to reduce waste and costs.
Manage work orders, maintenance, calibration, and resources to support production.
Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to resolve issues.
Ensure compliance with FDA QSR, ISO 13485/9001/14001 and company policies.
Support hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning activities.
