Job summary

KARL STORZ is seeking an experienced Machining Operations Supervisor to lead our machining department and ensure the efficient production of high-quality components that support our manufacturing operations and customer commitments. This role is onsite with a Monday–Friday shift from 6:30AM to 4:00PM to facilitate daily operations on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in machining/manufacturing.
• Strong CNC machine setup, offsets, troubleshooting, and program editing.
• Proven ability to lead teams and develop talent in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily operations within the machining department to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments are achieved.
• Supervise, coach, and develop machinists, operators, finishers/assemblers, and team leads while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.
• Monitor department performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve productivity, quality, throughput, and customer satisfaction.
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Manage work orders, inventory, maintenance activities, calibration programs, and manufacturing resources to support production requirements.
• Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Operations teams to resolve manufacturing issues and support business growth.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, FDA Quality System Regulations, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements.
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, scheduling, timecard approval, and workforce planning activities.
