Job summary

Seakeeper, Inc. in Leesport, PA is seeking a 1st Shift Machining Lead to oversee CNC equipment and mentor a skilled machining team. You will drive training, ensure tight tolerances, and uphold quality standards to deliver gravity-defying products.

You will read part drawings, troubleshoot issues, coordinate with maintenance, and promote a safe, efficient production environment on a fast-paced shop floor.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of CNC machining experience and machine shop mathematics.
• 4+ years of experience with precision grinding.
• 1+ years of experience training and mentoring team members in a machining environment.
• Familiarity with machining measuring and inspection tools, gauges and dial calipers.
• Ability to read part drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting, team building, decision making and people management skills.
• Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
• Thrive in seeing your team succeed and have the ability to bring out the best in people.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to work well with technical and non-technical people.
• Self-motivated with minimal direction required for day-to-day operations.
• Be obsessed with continuous improvement and not afraid to try new things.
• Comfortable working in an industrial plant environment and being hands-on and frequently active on the plant floor.
• Have a start-up mentality and be energized at the idea of wearing multiple hats and holistically managing processes.

• Strong command of Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the first point of contact for questions and troubleshooting related to the machining process (you'll be the go-to expert for your team!)
• Training, leading, mentoring, and motivating the machining team
• Assuring manufacturing and quality control programs are followed to ensure the finished products meet our quality demands and standards
• Being the go-to, subject matter expert, for all machining questions and troubleshooting
• Oversee the operations to ensure machines are working properly and being maintained. Work with maintenance to prevent and reduce time on machines
