Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Seymour, IN, seeks a Machining Engineer to support CNC machining operations, applying hands-on tooling, setup, and basic programming to drive safe, stable production.

You will interpret drawings, apply GD&T, and use measurement tools to troubleshoot and improve cycle times. Collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering, you will optimize tooling strategies, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement through NPI and process standardisation while

Qualifications

• College/University degree in STEM or related field, or equivalent experience required.
• Export controls or sanctions regulations licensing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support CNC machining operations to ensure stable, efficient production output.
• Analyse performance metrics such as OEE and cycle times to identify improvements.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and production interruptions to minimise downtime.
• Optimise tooling strategies, tool life, and cutting data for cost and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive operational excellence.
• Lead or support structured problem-solving initiatives to address root causes.
