Specialized Talent Acquisition Recruiting Team (START) is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist in Michigan. The role involves running multiple CNC centers, loading programs, and setting controls to meet tight tolerances.

You will perform first-piece checks, adjust tooling, and document production through daily reports. Candidate should have hands-on CNC experience, robot teach pendant skills, and familiarity with shop-floor tools and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC expertise including troubleshooting and tool adjustment.
• Experience with robot positioning via teach pendant.
• Familiarity with shop-floor tools and SAP handheld scanners.
• Knowledge of quality systems and production documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment across CNC machining centers; load programs and set controls.
• Install fixtures and complete set-ups; repair/replace tooling as needed.
• Perform first-piece checks and adjust tools to maintain tolerances.
• Record production data and escalate nonconformances promptly.
• Complete daily production reports, TAKT, PPLH, and scrap documentation.

A day in the lifeYou start your shift with a quick huddle focused on eliminating waste and aligning with our company goals. From there, you move to your machining cell, load programs, set machine controls, and install fixtures across multiple CNC machining centers. You run a first-article piece, verify dimensions, and fine-tune tooling to hold tolerances. If a robot pick point needs tweaking, you adjust positions using the teach pendant. Throughout the day, you perform in-process quality checks, record production data, and promptly escalate any nonconformances to your Team Leader or Supervisor.
