Job summary

Helogen, Inc. in Los Angeles is hiring a Manufacturing Technician II to support machining, fabrication, mechanical assembly, and hardware integration at our LA facility. You will join a small team of engineers, scientists, builders, and operators working to unlock microgravity hardware applications.

We value execution, clarity, ownership, speed, and hands-on workmanship. In this role you will set up and operate 3-axis CNC mills, fabricate parts, assemble systems, and collaborate with engineers

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or related field.
• Comfortable independently setting up and operating 3-axis CNC milling machines.
• Proficiency with CNC programming, CAM software, tooling selection, and workholding.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing specs.
• Familiar with precision measurement tools including calipers and micrometers.
• Experience with mechanical assembly, hand tools, and general fabrication equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; attentive to detail and workmanship.
• Autonomous, with high ownership of your work and workspace.
• Flexible and collaborative, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities, solve problems, and jump in where needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3-axis CNC mills to manufacture precision components from drawings and CAD models.
• Prepare CNC programs and CAM toolpaths; select cutting tools and establish workholding.
• Machine aluminum, stainless steel, and engineering plastics; perform finishing operations.
• Fabricate prototypes, fixtures, brackets, enclosures, and tooling; inspect parts with calipers/micrometers.
• Assemble mechanical components and flight hardware per drawings and procedures.
• Support integration of electromechanical systems and instrumentation; troubleshoot as needed.
• Work with engineers to manufacture and iterate prototypes, providing manufacturability feedback.
• Support 3D printing and rapid prototyping processes; assist with hardware modifications.
• Maintain machines and tools; document activities and keep workspace clean and safe.
• Conduct incoming inspections and assist in packaging/hardware testing for shipment.
