CNC Machine Operator III

Day Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

Machine Operators operate computer-controlled machines to perform various functions required to produce customer orders. Skilled Machine Operators are essential to our success, ensuring reliability and accuracy.

Essential Functions

• Sets up and operates automated CNC Vertical and Horizontal machines.
• Locates and identifies the X, Y, Z axes on machines.
• Uses indicators to verify flatness and straightness of fixtures and tooling.
• Performs daily checks on machines and reports concerns; may initiate maintenance requests.
• Interprets blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work instructions accurately.
• Uses measuring tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Performs rework and repairs fixtures as needed.
• Replaces dull tools following safety protocols.
• Mounts, aligns, and secures tools and workpieces.
• Monitors machines during operation to detect issues and adjusts as necessary.
• Adjusts machine settings, changes tools, and manages malfunctions.
• Stops machines to change workpieces or tools as required.
• Lifts workpieces manually or with equipment.
• Transfers programs from servers to CNC modules and enters control instructions.
• Troubleshoots and edits programs to resolve production issues.
• Monitors coolant systems and performs inspections during operation.
• Prepares future jobs, cleans work areas, and assists in training.
• May operate forklifts if certified and perform deburring.
• Follows safety policies and uses PPE consistently.
• Communicates effectively in English and follows instructions.

Additional Tasks: Performs other duties as assigned, maintains regular attendance.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Vocational training in machining preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in complex multi-axis machining centers.

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
