Job Description
Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading building envelope solution supplier that effectively drives energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are seeking a Machine Operator in our Puyallup, WA Plant.
Shift: 8pm-6:30am, OT as required
Pay: $21.86 plus $1.00 shift differential
Job Summary
Operate machinery designed to perform a specific portion of the production process around EPS (Expand Polystyrene). Assist Operator II and Operator III on packing and end-of-line work, and as needed. Working 40 hours a week with occasional overtime, no travel required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate machinery of assigned department (lamination, cutting, fabrication, shapes, recycling, molding, expanding, etc.) to complete assigned work order.
- Receive and review work orders.
- Communicate the required amount of material needed to perform tasks to other departments.
- Continuously observe machine operation to ensure optimal performance within the assigned department.
- Perform hazard-based functions on machinery, including lock out/tag out and daily equipment inspection.
- Stack, sort, and bundle material according to standard work.
- Perform occasional housekeeping tasks, 5S, and SQDC involvement.
- Record data of manufactured material for quality control and improvement.
- Achieve production goals while complying with safety requirements.
- Assist with quality checks to verify proper parameters are adhered to.
- Assist Operators II & III on packaging and end-of-line work, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Highly motivated with a good work ethic.
- Demonstrate safe working practices and attention to detail.
- Follow CWT’s policies, procedures, and processes.
- Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Basic computer, mathematics, and problem-solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
- Use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).
- Team player able to follow instructions from management and peers.
- Ability to learn and operate new equipment.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Prior experience in manufacturing preferred.
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced environment with exposure to ambient/outside temperatures, dust, mechanical parts, pinch points, and noise.
- Hours vary from 8-10 hours per shift, with potential overtime and weekend hours.
- Heavy machinery on the manufacturing floor.
- Use of radio, calculator, measuring devices, hand tools, and computer (Shop Floor and ERP).
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Eye and hearing protection at all times.
- Safety toe shoes (steel/composite).
- Hi-Vis Vests.
- Other PPE as defined by management.
