Job summary

Plastic Ingenuity in Wisconsin is seeking an Entry-Level Tooling Machinist to learn and grow in precision machining, mold building, and CNC equipment. Work alongside skilled machinists to gain hands-on experience in sharpening tooling, setup, and basic program adjustments.

This role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and quality, with a four-day work week in a clean, climate-controlled shop and clear opportunities for advancement as your skills develop.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude preferred with no strict experience requirement.
  • Must be willing to learn and follow safety procedures.
  • Basic reading of prints and measurements is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Learn machining operations including drilling, milling, turning, and CNC machining.
  • Sharpen and maintain tooling components with precision grinding equipment.
  • Build, repair, and maintain molds and tooling used in manufacturing.
  • Read prints and measurements; ensure quality standards.
  • Keep tools and work area organized; collaborate with teams to improve processes.

What You’ll Do

As an Entry-Level Tooling Machinist, you'll work alongside experienced machinists and toolmakers while developing valuable technical skills. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn how to sharpen and maintain tooling components using precision grinding equipment
  • Assist with machining operations including drilling, milling, turning, and CNC machining
  • Help build, repair, and maintain molds and tooling used in manufacturing
  • Learn CNC machine setup and make basic program adjustments
  • Read and interpret prints, measurements, and specifications
  • Maintain quality standards and follow safe work practices
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas organized and ready for use
  • Collaborate with tooling, engineering, and production teams to solve problems and improve processes
