Job summary

Trillium Staffing is seeking a Night Shift CNC Machine Operator for a direct-hire role in Freeport. Candidates should have basic knowledge of operating CNC mills and lathes, familiarity with HAAS controls, and ability to read blueprints with GD&T concepts.

Responsibilities include loading material, running CNC equipment, simple setups, and monitoring part quality while maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• 12+ months of experience operating CNC mills or lathes in a production environment.
• Ability to read basic prints, part dimensions, holes and tolerances.
• Familiarity with HAAS or similar CNC controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform light maintenance such as cleaning, coolant checks, and organizing tooling.
• Deburr edges and protect parts during machining.
• Read and interpret basic prints and tolerances; report issues to leads.
• Assist with simple CNC mill/lathe setups, select tools and verify offsets.
• Measure parts using calipers, micrometers and other shop tools.
• Load/unload material, start production, monitor machines for quality and safety.

Job description

Trillium is seeking Night Shift CNC Machine Operators in Freeport! This Direct-Hire opportunity seeks candidates with basic knowledge of operating CNC mills and lathes. Qualified candidates will be familiar with operating HAAS or similar control panels, reading basic blueprints, understanding GD&T, having a basic understanding of G & M Codes, and clamping parts. As a Night Shift CNC Operator, you will support daily production by loading material, running CNC equipment, performing simple machine setups, monitoring part quality, and keeping the work area organized. You’ll be guided by experienced machinists and leads, gaining hands-on exposure to basic programming, tooling, and inspection techniques — a strong step toward advancing your career in precision machining.

Responsibilities

• Perform light maintenance such as cleaning, coolant checks, and organizing tooling.
• Deburr edges properly and protect parts during and after machining.
• Work with leads and supervisors to report issues and keep production moving.
• Read and interpret basic prints, part dimensions, hole locations, and tolerances.
• Assist with simple CNC mill or lathe setups, including selecting tools and verifying offsets.
• Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and other common shop tools.
• Load and unload material, start production runs, and monitor machines for quality and safety.

Schedule

Schedule is4 Day / 10 Hour Shift Workweek(Overtime potential on Sundays).Night Shift / Monday - Thursday / 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Pay rate is$24.50 - $29.50 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• 12+ months of experience operating CNC mills or lathes in a production environment.
• Ability to identify simple issues during machining and make minor adjustments.
• Any exposure to Mastercam or similar CAM software is helpful but not required.
• Strong focus on accuracy, part quality, and safe operation throughout daily tasks.
• Familiarity with HAAS controls or comparable CNC control systems.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and understand fundamental GD&T concepts.
