Jetstream Of Houston is seeking a skilled machinist to review work orders, set up equipment, and operate precision machines to produce parts within tight tolerances.

The role requires reading blueprints or drawings, performing various machining operations, and conducting first piece inspections. Cross-training in related areas and contributing to 5S initiatives are encouraged to support a safe, efficient shop.

Qualificações

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret Blueprints/Technical Drawings.
• Ability to perform various machining operations in accordance with part specifications.
• Certificate in Machining Technologies or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Review work order, pull equipment, position pieces, and operate machines to form quantities within tolerances.
• Analyze blueprints or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Plan machine set ups and run production to parts within tolerances.
• Deburr parts as needed.
• Perform first piece inspections and adjust machines to meet specs.
• Complete inspection reports and document quality information.

Key Activities/Responsibilities

• Review work order, pull necessary equipment, position work piece and operate various machines through production runs to form specified quantities to defined tolerances
• Analyze and interpret blueprint, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
• Plan machine set ups, position work piece and operate various machines through production runs to form specified quantities of piece parts to specified tolerances.
• Deburr parts as needed
• Monitor machine functions to ensure that parts are manufactured to defined specifications
• Perform first piece inspections and make necessary adjustment to machine to ensure parts are formed to designated tolerances
• Complete inspection reports as required and repair any defects found and document critical quality information as necessary
• Perform preventative maintenance and ensure machines are operating optimally
• Communicate with managers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve quality issues
• Act as subject matter expert and train co-workers as requested
• Document outstanding issues either written or verbally to ensure smooth transition between shift
• Cross train in other areas of Operations (assembly, shipping and receiving). Develop proficiency in multiple areas in order to assist in other area as business need change
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area complying with all 5S initiatives and advise
• Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Certificate in Machining Technologies or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment, required
• Ability to read and interpret Blueprints/Technical Drawings
• Ability to perform various machining operation in accordance with part specifications

Pay Transparency

Anticipated hourly wage: $20/hour - 21/hour depending on level of previous experience.
