Company Job Title: CNC Machine Operator

Department: Machine Shop

Reports To: Machine Shop Supervisor

FLSA Status: Full time Non-Exempt

Summary:

  • Candidate must machine products utilizing CNC lathes and mills according to company or customer drawings and specifications.
  • Starting hourly rate for this position is $20 per hour
  • Work hours for this role are 7AM to 3 PM, 30-minute paid lunch

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operation of CNC Lathes and Mills.
  • Inspects output for quality and documents or discards defects.
  • Exhibit safe work habits adhering to all PPE and OSHA requirements for assigned area.
  • Must report to work at scheduled time every day.
  • Be in your work area and prepared to begin work at the start of your shift.
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation and maintains housekeeping throughout the building.
  • Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks & other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduate, or general education degree preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, and instructions to ensure accurate production.
  • Ability to machine products in accordance with customer or company drawings and specifications and maintain minimum production standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform basic math to calculate speeds and feeds.
  • Must have ability to utilize Manufacturing System to scan timecard and labor tickets.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Mechanically inclined and have the ability to work with your hands.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Must have knowledge of machinist measuring tools and ability to perform quality checks.

Physical Demands:

  • Employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Employee is regularly required to stand, lift, stoop, and walk for 5 hours at a time, without breaks.
  • Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
  • Employee must have the ability to work with their hands to load parts and set-up machine.
  • Employee is regularly required to stand for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Employee is required to wear PPE for designated work area.
  • Employee is required to be on site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and for face-to-face interactions with co-workers on production floor.

Work Environment:

  • The employee will normally work on the production floor and may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. May occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise.
