Job summary

Geater Machining and Manufacturing, Co. seeks a CNC/Machine Mechanic to repair machinery, perform preventive maintenance, and support production in Independence, IA. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and read mechanical drawings to ensure uptime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; AA degree or 5+ years related CNC/mechanic experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety information, manuals, and procedures.
• Fluent in English; strong communication and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems.
• Troubleshoot CNC machine controls, motors, drives, sensors, and related components.
• Inspect machines for wear, damage, alignment, and potential failures.
• Setup, calibrate, level, and align machines as needed.
• Read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics accurately.
• Replace or repair bearings, gears, motors, pumps, valves, and tooling components.
• Assist installation of new CNC equipment and other machinery.
• Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and PM activities.
• Collaborate with production teams to improve machine reliability.
