Job summary

The Oilgear Company is seeking a hands‑on CNC lead in Fremont, NE to manage setup, machining, and inspection while guiding operators and aligning with production priorities.

You will read blueprints, set up turning and machining centers, verify tolerances, train staff, and promote safe work practices with a focus on consistent quality. This is an on‑site role supporting daily manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Operate two or more CNC turning centers or machining centers.
• Read drawings, tolerances, specifications, processes and procedures.
• Perform machine setups, tool adjustments, and prescribed inspections.
• Read and interpret drawings and tolerances to meet specs.
• Train coworkers and coordinate daily work priorities.
• Willingness to work any assigned shift and meet physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily CNC assignments and machine priorities with the Production Supervisor to support production schedules.
• Set up and operate CNC turning and machining centers to meet blueprint tolerances and finish requirements.
• Read drawings, specifications, setup instructions, and approved programs to produce quality parts.
• Secure tooling, fixtures, and workpieces; verify reference points, travel, stops, and clearances.
• Enter approved programs, prove out setups, and adjust tooling and offsets within authorized limits.
• Perform required inspections with precision instruments and accurately record results.
• Troubleshoot setup and machining issues; report defects and program variations to Supervision, Engineering, or Quality.
• Monitor production, downtime, scrap, and rework; communicate delays and resource needs.
• Train and mentor operators on operation, setups, inspection, and standard work; support cross‑training.
