Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a Machine Center Lead Operator to program, set up, and run CNC machines. You will maintain quality and safety standards, document production logs, and support other shifts when needed.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and leadership. Prior experience with Mastercam CAD/CAM and GD&T is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 3–5+ years in a machine/tool environment. Training potential exists.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to efficiently work in a team and coordinate work with other departments.
• Aptitude to take orders and execute them efficiently.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• 3-5+ years experience in tool or machine room preferred or trade school certification.
• Experience leading and training people preferred.
• Knowledge of blueprints and specifications for machinery.
• Experience using Mastercam CAD/CAM to program machined parts.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Machining Manager to achieve department and company goals.
• Train employees, plan and develop machining projects; work with machinists to improve skills.
• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints and GD&T.
• Plan stock inventory and verify receipt of stock.
• Program mills and lathes by entering instructions and setting tool offsets.
• Set up mills and lathes with fixtures, tools, and attachments.
• Load stock and verify part settings.
• Maintain safety, quality and equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Assist other shifts when needed.
