Job summary

Ideal Tridon in Springfield, MO is seeking an experienced CNC Operations Lead to oversee daily CNC operations, manage workflows, and mentor the shop floor team. This full-time role is based in our facility, working 1st shift from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, ensuring quality and safety on the shop floor.

• Able to read and interpret precision drawings and use measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Trains, mentors, and supports new and junior CNC Operators on setup, operation, and safety protocols.
• Acts as first line of troubleshooting for machining issues, tooling failures, or programming errors on the floor.
• Collaborate with Plant Manager to adjust daily workflows, reduce scrap, and meet production targets.
• Set up and operate NC machine tools that mill, drill and broach metal parts; manage multiple machines.

Job Summary:

Oversees daily CNC operations, manages production workflows, and operates machines while serving as the primary technical resource and mentor for CNC Operators on the shop floor.

Shift and Schedule:

1st 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday

Essential Functions of Job:

• Trains, mentors, and support new and junior CNC Operators on machine setup, operation, and safety protocols.
• Acts as the first point of contact for troubleshooting complex machining issues, tooling failures, or programming errors on the floor.
• Collaborate with the Plant Manager to adjust daily workflows, manage scrap reduction, and ensure production targets are met.
• Set up and operation of numerical control machine tools that automatically mill, drill and broach metal parts.
• Operate multiple machines at the same time when not setting up.
• Adjusting the machine for feed and speed, change of cutting tools or adjusting machine controls when appropriate.
• Select, measure, assemble and set machine tools such as drill bits and milling or cutting tools using precision gauges and instruments.
• Follow specifications or procedures for tooling set-up.
• Enforces shop safety rules, ensures proper use of PPE, and maintains a clean, organized workspace (e.g., 5S standards).
• Maintenance work on machines as needed.

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• An Associate of Applied Science degree or technical certification is highly preferred but not required.
• 5+ years’ experience in CNC operations, with 1-3 years of proven leadership, supervisory, or training experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and effective verbal communication skills to bridge the gap between management and operators.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes.
• Able to read and interpret precision drawings.
• Able to use measuring tools such as but not limited to micrometers, calipers, depth
