Job summary

Randstad USA in Hayward, CA is hiring a CNC lathe setup/operator for a first shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM). You will perform end-to-end lathe setups, load programs, set coordinates, and manage tooling to meet tight tolerances.

The role requires 3+ years (or 5–10+ for senior) of CNC lathe experience, proficiency with Fanuc or Haas controls, and solid GD&T understanding. No degree required.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years (Junior/Mid) or 5–10+ years (Senior) in CNC lathe setup and operation.
• Control familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, or similar lathe controls, including minor line edits at the machine.
• Blueprint literacy and GD&T understanding; proficient with precision hand tools.
• Reliable 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM shift in Hayward, CA; strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end lathe setups: jaw/chuck changes, collet installation, live-tooling alignment, prove-outs.
• Load programs, set work coordinates, tool length offsets, and basic G-code/M-code edits at the control.
• Run high-precision job orders, monitor tool wear, replace inserts, adjust offsets to maintain quality.
• First-piece and in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread pins, optical comparators.
• Tooling management: select and set up cutting tools and fixtures to maintain tolerances and finishes.

Qualifications Needed

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Lathe Setups: Perform complete setups, jaw/chuck changes, collet installation, live-tooling alignment, and program prove-outs on CNC Turning Centers.
• Control & Offsets: Load existing programs, set work coordinates, establish tool length offsets, and make basic G-code/M-code edits at the control panel (Fanuc, Haas, etc.) to hold tolerances.
• Production & Operation: Run high-precision job orders, monitor tool wear, replace inserts, and make in-process offset adjustments to maintain part quality across production runs.
• First-Piece & In-Process Inspection: Read engineering drawings/GD&T callouts and verify parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread pins, and optical comparators.
• Tooling Management: Select and set up cutting tools, boring bars, and workholding fixtures to maintain tight tolerances and optimal surface finishes.
