Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinist to join our Santa Ana manufacturing team. You will own complex machine setups, maintain production standards, and ensure tight tolerances on CNC mills, lathes, and inspection equipment.

This third shift runs 9 PM to 5 AM and requires a high school diploma with at least 3 years of experience. The role emphasizes safety, mentorship of newer machinists, and efficient multi‑machine operation.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of CNC setup and machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and tolerances.
• Experience with CNC mills, lathes or inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Setup & Operation: Perform responsive setups on CNC mills, lathes, manual machines, and inspection equipment for production jobs.
• Process Maintenance: Maintain and update standard setup procedures for all critical manufacturing processes.
• Blueprint Reading & Tolerances: Work directly from engineering blueprints, job routings, and tooling instructions to hold tight tolerances.
• Program Transfers: Utilize basic computer skills to transfer CNC programs to a variety of machine controllers.
• Quality & Inspection: Perform dimensional and visual inspections using precision hand measuring tools; document all measurements and shop floor paperwork.
• Training & Mentorship: Guide and train less experienced machinists on proper setup techniques and shop safety.
• Multi-Machine Operation: Run multiple machines simultaneously when cycle times permit.

salary: $53,300 - $89,500 per year
