Job summary

Aerotek in Fridley, MN is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Setup Machinist for a permanent, on-site role. You will set up and operate Hyper Quadrex turning centers to produce tight-tolerance, high-precision parts while collaborating with the Lathe Manager and Engineering to troubleshoot programs and improve processes.

This is first shift only in a modern shop with 110+ employees and Fanuc controls. The opportunity includes weekly pay and ongoing investment in technology, with a strong focus on

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC lathe setup and operation.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues directly at the machine.
• Experience in tight-tolerance, precision environments.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls.
• Experience with Hyper Quadrex machines preferred.
• Experience with Nakamura or Miyano equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete setups and operate CNC Hyper Quadrex turning centers.
• Machine high-precision parts to tight tolerances.
• Partner with Lathe Manager and Engineering to troubleshoot and optimize programs; improve machining processes; resolve production and tooling issues.
• Monitor tool wear and maintain consistent quality throughout runs.
• Make program edits and adjustments using Fanuc controls (G & M code).
• Maintain accurate setup sheets and production documentation.

What You’ll Do

• Perform complete setups and operate CNC Hyper Quadrex turning centers
• Machine high-precision parts to tight tolerances
• Partner with the Lathe Manager and Engineering team to:
  • Troubleshoot and optimize programs
  • Improve machining processes
  • Resolve production and tooling issues
• Monitor tool wear and maintain consistent quality throughout runs
• Make program edits and adjustments using Fanuc controls (G & M code)
• Maintain accurate setup sheets and production documentation

What You Bring

• Strong experience in CNC lathe setup and operation
• Ability to troubleshoot issues directly at the machine
• Experience working in tight-tolerance, precision environments
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls
• Experience with Hyper Quadrex machines (highly preferred)
• Experience with Nakamura, Miyano, or similar equipment (a plus)
• Experience supporting industries like:
  • Aerospace
  • Medical
  • Defense/Military
  • Data storage (preferred but not required)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
