Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator in Abilene, TX, to set up and run CNC lathe machines with a focus on precision and quality.

You will interpret blueprints, apply GD&T, troubleshoot programs, document procedures, and collaborate with a cross‑functional team to meet production goals. During the 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM), you will maintain safety, perform daily maintenance checks, and record shift issues.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Strong basic math skills for on‑the‑fly calculations.
• Ability to document machining procedures accurately.
• familiarity with metals, fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling.
• Experience with Okuma, Mazak, and Mori lathe machines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines for turning, drilling, bar feeding, and live tooling.
• Optimize setup times and machine utilization.
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Troubleshoot programs and adjust as needed.
• Follow in-process inspection protocols and report non-conformances.
