Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear in Abilene, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Machine Operator to support precision machining of power transmission components. You will read process sheets, set up fixtures, operate lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC machines, and inspect finished parts against tolerances.

You’ll work Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, follow safety rules, wear PPE, and collaborate with teammates to optimize production.

Qualifications

• Able to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English.
• Must be physically able to handle heavy items and position components.
• Must follow safety protocols, timekeeping policies, and other company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Follow production instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions to achieve outcomes.
• Install machine fixtures and align dies, punches, blades, or other parts to ensure safe operation.
• Set up and operate machines such as lathes, mills, drills, presses, and CNC equipment per specifications.
• Inspect finished parts and monitor quality using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow PPE and safety procedures; assist in other areas as needed.
