Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Machine Operator for the Peoria, IL area. The role involves operating a CNC Lathe, interpreting work orders, and maintaining quality during production. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with first and second shifts, offering room for growth and advancement.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to operate CNC machinery, including lathe machines.
• Basic understanding of blueprints and ability to interpret them.
• Experience with quality tools such as micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

• Operate a CNC Lathe efficiently and safely.
• Interpret work orders and ensure each job is accurately punched in and tagged throughout the process.
• Select parts for machining from large tubs, bending as necessary.
• Make adjustments to parts as needed to meet specifications.
• Grind parts to smooth down flare after machining.
• Check the quality of parts between cycles to ensure high standards are met.
• Take initiative, maintain a hustle in pace, and keep up with production demands.
