Job summary

SpaceX is hiring a CNC Lathe Machinist (Starship) to support production of critical hardware. You will set up, operate, and edit CNC programs for Okuma MULTUS machines, prioritize tasks to hit dates, and ensure high-quality parts.

You’ll manage tools, deburr parts, and perform ongoing maintenance while keeping the shop organized and safe. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and 1+ years in CNC machining; preferred are 5+ years, expertise in Esprit CAD/CAM, and strong reading of

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency required; 1+ years CNC machining experience preferred.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical data; perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Experience with Esprit CAD/CAM software and high‑efficiency milling/turning.
Strong teamwork and mechanical aptitude; able to train peers as needed.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and edit programs on CNC machines (Okuma MULTUS) for hardware production.
Prioritize daily tasks to meet customer dates while ensuring top quality.
Manage cutting tools and ensure proper loading, measurement, and readiness.
Perform on‑machine deburring and weekly/monthly preventative maintenance.
Document process data at each stage and suggest machining improvements.
