Lofton Staffing in South Houston, TX is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for a second shift, full-time position. You will set up and operate CNC lathes to produce close-tolerance parts per blueprints, with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of CNC machining experience, proficiency with Fanuc controls, and strong measurement skills using calipers and micrometers. Overtime may be available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes.
• Experience with Fanuc controls and tooling offsets.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up CNC lathes from start to finish
• Install and set jaws based on job requirements
• Cut jaws as needed for specific jobs
• Install tooling and touch off tools
• Edit CNC programs and make necessary adjustments
• Set and adjust machine offsets and cutting parameters
• Operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to blueprints and specifications
• Machine stainless steel and other materials
• Perform face grooving and ID grooving operations
• Maintain tight tolerances, including tolerances as close as .0005" when required
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments as needed
• Maintain tooling and equipment
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe

CNC Machinist – Lathe | Second Shift | South Houston, TX

Lofton Staffing is hiring experienced CNC Lathe Machinists for a second-shift opportunity with a manufacturing client in South Houston. This position is ideal for a machinist who can independently set up and operate CNC lathes, make program and offset adjustments, and produce close-tolerance parts with minimal supervision.

Pay:

$24–$35/hr, depending on experience

Schedule:

Second Shift. Full-time, Overtime may be available

What You'll Do:

• Independently set up CNC lathes from start to finish


• Install and set jaws based on job requirements


• Cut jaws as needed for specific jobs


• Install tooling and touch off tools


• Edit CNC programs and make necessary adjustments


• Set and adjust machine offsets and cutting parameters


• Operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to blueprints and specifications

What We’re Looking For:

• 2+ years of CNC machining experience preferred


• Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC lathes


• Experience with Fanuc controls


• Strong understanding of CNC setup, tooling, jaws, and offsets


• Ability to edit CNC programs


• Experience machining stainless steel


• Experience with face grooving and ID grooving


• Ability to hold close tolerances, including .0005\" when required


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings


• Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment


• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail


• Able to work independently without constant supervision


• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Experience:

• Live tooling experience


• Experience with complex or close-tolerance CNC lathe work


• Strong CNC setup and program editing experience


• Experience selecting tooling and making offset adjustments
