CNC Machinist – Mill | Second Shift | South Houston, TX

Lofton Staffing is hiring experienced CNC Machinists for a second-shift opportunity with a manufacturing client in South Houston. We are looking for machinists who can set up and operate CNC mills, read blueprints, make machine adjustments, and produce precision parts while maintaining tight tolerances.

Pay: $24–$35/hr, depending on experience

Schedule: Second Shift, 3:00pm - Midnight
Full-time, Overtime may be available

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and machining specifications
• Set and adjust machine offsets, tooling, and cutting parameters
• Perform milling and drilling operations on stainless steel and other materials
• Operate Fanuc-type CNC controls
• Make in-process adjustments to maintain quality and dimensional accuracy
• Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision inspection equipment
• Maintain tight tolerances, including tolerances as close as .0005" when required
• Identify machining issues and make necessary corrections
• Maintain tooling and machine equipment as needed
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
• Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards

Requirements

• 2+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
• Hands-on CNC mill experience
• Experience with Fanuc-type controls
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience machining stainless steel
• Ability to maintain tight tolerances
• Experience with machine setups, tooling, and offsets
• Ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred

• 5-axis CNC mill experience
• Experience with complex or close-tolerance machining
• Experience setting up CNC mills from prints
• Experience with tooling selection and offset adjustments
